Mean-lookin’, isn’t he? Every year in early January, I have an excuse to draw something mean and rather gruff-looking. This is because it’s my brother’s birthday.

2009 Confronting Monsters I
Beginning of a series… hah. Let’s see if this lasts. This tends to my usual theme of bizarre spirit-like beings confronting a girl in an odd outfit. The original is about 20 x 10, which is gobs of fun. I’m planning to paint it, but not sure how, yet. Maybe I’ll transfer it to wood and paint in acrylic, but I was hoping to paint on paper (watercolor or otherwise!) because I really miss that. The original is on illustration board, but the black and white ink is a finished piece in and of itself, so I don’t want to ruin it.
Not that it’s flawless. There are lots of little things that I plan to fix in the finished piece.
